Exciting times at AECT

May 23, 2020

Well, it's been exactly three years since I sent an email to my friend and ultimately business partner, Steve, asking him what he thought about buying this (let's face it) struggling company in San Antonio that builds machines that turn dirt into building blocks. Ever since that email exchange, life has been a blur. I never could have imagined what an emotional and financial roller-coaster this business would put us through. I never could have imagined how much work it would take and how much there is to learn...but like anything in life that's worth doing, I never could have imagined how rewarding an experience this all would be and how much I would grow to love these machines and the concept of building with earth! We still have a long way to go to get this company and the compressed earth block industry where we want it, but sometimes it's good to celebrate how far you've already come. As I write this, we have an AECT mobile batch plant in Austin producing over 40,000 CEBs for the new HOPE Outdoor Gallery HOPE Outdoor Gallery a second AECT mobile batch plant outside Durant, OK producing more than 10,000 CEBs for a family of seven who are getting ready to build a brand new CEB home for themselves, our brilliant welders/fabricators are busy building the next two CEB machines for a customer in Hungary, and interest in CEBs is the highest it's been since we started!

Thank you for supporting us on our journey. We will continue to provide regular updates on this blog and hope that it will provide a great way for you to follow our progress as we continue to spread the good word about building with CEBs :)

Lots of dirt on the face and pants means it was a great day of making CEBs :)
